Fort Foster State Historic Site in Thonotosassa is bringing the holiday season to life.
Visitors are invited to the Candlelight Experience at the site on Fri. Dec. 12 and Sat. Dec. 13 from 6 to 9pm to follow a lantern-lit trail through the military fort and Seminole camp. Along the trail, visitors will be treated to music, living history and refreshments and a battle reenactment both days at 8pm. http://www.floridastateparks.org/fortfoster/default.cfm

Fort Foster Rendezvous at Hillsborough River State Park

The annual Fort Foster Rendezvous will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 8-9
at Hillsborough River State Park, 15402 U.S. 301 N in Thonotosassa.
The event at the Fort Foster State Historic Site features military members, Seminoles, civilians, sutlers, traders and craft demonstrations. There will be firing demonstrations and a skirmish between Seminoles and soldiers after 1 p.m. both days.
The cost is $5 person for the Hillsborough River State Park Preservation Society. Call the park at (813) 987-6870 for information.
