Lake Meadows Naturals Farm

I just received an email from a friend of mine who lives near this farm and it looks pretty cool! I wanted to share with you the info about free tours on Fridays. It looks like they have animals, gardens and a store with free eggs, bread, produce and more. I think we may check this out this summer. See website link below.

Did you know that we have free tours of the farm on Fridays? Call the farm store or email Liz at liz@lakemeadownaturals.com to schedule one for you and the kids. Did you also know that you can pick your very own eggs on Saturdays on a first come, first serve basis? Great memory- making activities. Exciting times here at Lake Meadow Naturals.

Our "100 things to do this Summer" List is complete

Photo: Our "100 Things to do this Summer" list is complete for 2014! Bring on Summer! 10 more school days. Our Summer List is complete and hanging up ready for school to be out for the summer. We are ready for some lazy days and some days free of lunchboxes, homework and projects. Can't wait to have lazy pj and movie days and do some projects we have been putting off since Christmas like using my son's Rock Tumbler. We also look forward to seeing friends that we don't see much during the school year and planning some day trips to check out local sites that are only open during the summer like Lake Eva Aquatic Center or we haven't been to before. Also, we always take advantage of the FREE summer movies and all the great summer programs offered at our local libraries.
Stay tuned to my blog for more fun ideas for summer activities and to see how many of our 100 things we actually accomplish (last year we did 85 out of 100)!

Bok Tower Discovery Days 2014

 http://boktowergardens.org/calendar/discovery-days/

About Discovery Days

Your child will discover nature through active, fun experiences as they venture out into the Gardens with new friends. Each Discovery Day celebrates a different aspect of nature through themed activities, projects and explorations that keep young minds actively learning and engaging throughout the summer. Each session includes a snack and at least one take-home project.
We understand that flexibility is important for summer schedules. Discovery Days are designed with eight (8) independent sessions that are repeated once for a total of 16 program options. Choose the number of sessions or the specific topics that work best for you, your child, and your summer schedule.
Your child can earn a Discovery Certificate by attending all eight sessions—all eight Wednesdays, all eight Fridays, or both Wednesdays and Fridays for the first or last four weeks.

LEGOLAND® Florida Announces First Responder Days in May

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (April 28, 2014)—LEGOLAND ® Florida is proud to once again honor police officers, fire fighters and EMS employees with a free single day admission to the park during the month of May. LEGOLAND Florida’s special offer gives first responders a chance to experience the park’s more than 50 rides, shows and attractions with their friends and family.

The program is valid for all police officers, fire fighters, and EMS employees working and serving in the United States. Active and retired personnel with identification are eligible. Eligible personnel should present their employee ID or professional organization membership card to LEGOLAND Florida’s ticket window the day they plan to visit to redeem their one free admission ticket and purchase up to four additional tickets at only $40 per ticket. The valid dates run from 5/1/14-5/31/14.

This new offer runs alongside the park’s active duty military personnel offer, which gives members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reservists free single day admission to LEGOLAND Florida and the LEGOLAND Water Park. To redeem their free admission ticket, active duty military personnel should present their military identification card to LEGOLAND Florida’s ticket window the day they plan to visit. Family and friends of military personnel also receive substantial discounts on admission tickets and should make purchases in advance through participating military base ticket offices.

Also during the month of May, LEGOLAND Florida will open the newest park expansion, DUPLO ® Valley, on May 23. Just in time for family fun over Memorial Day weekend, DUPLO Valley is geared to toddlers ages 2 to 5, an ideal place for park guests to play and relax with new farm-themed attractions, including the DUPLO Train, DUPLO Mini-Tractor, DUPLO Barn and DUPLO Splash n’ Play.
