Dirt Days #2 RSVP now space is limited

My boys and I attended Dirt Days last year presented by and loved this program. The program is FREE you just have to RSVP since they limit how many children can attend each month. Each month, the program is at a different park location in Polk county and you learn about Florida friendly plants and get to actually plant some plants to help beautify the parks and even get to take a plant home with you each time!

Dirt Day No. 2
Saturday, April 28, 2012
9:00 am – Noon
Christina Park
625 CR-540A, Lakeland

We’re grilling up some hot dogs to go with whatever yummy “Pot Luck” side dish or dessert you would like to bring for a picnic lunch afterwards. Bring a BIG appetite and the recipe for your Pot Luck! You might even win a PRIZE!!
Learn how to properly take cuttings from the Wild Coffee native
plants growing in the landscaped beds at Christina Park. These
cuttings will grow to make more beautiful plants to keep our parks
looking really good. You will even get to take home one FREE Wild
Coffee plant for your own garden.
We will also weed and clean out the beds, trim back other plants
that need Spring Rehab and even pick up trash throughout the park.
Learn the ends-and-outs of taking care of your garden at home
from experienced Polk County Master Gardeners. Encourage
your adult partner to help our Florida Geocaching Friends and
other volunteers who are going to join us for SPRING CLEANING
at Christina Park.
Bring gloves and your favorite gardening tools. Sound too much
like work? We promise it will be FUN.
RSVP Carmen Hunter, 534-4340 or
E-Mail Miss Glenda:
Totally FREE!
