Join us this summer for 8 weeks of fun, all FREE at your Library!

3 - 5 year olds:
Tuesdays June 11 - July 30
10:00 - 10:45 AM
Featuring stories, finger plays, music and film!

6 - 8 year olds:
Tuesdays June 11 - July 30
3:00 - 4:00 PM
Featuring stories, music, games, crafts and film!

18 months - 2 year olds:
Thursdays June 13 - August 1
10:00 - 10:30 AM
Featuring nursery rhymes, finger plays, music and bubbles!

Bartow Public Library Summer Reading Program

DIG INTO READING!
Beginning Thursday June 6th, stop by the Bartow Public Library and pick up your free materials for this summer program.  Record in your Reading Log what you read and how many minutes you read each day.  When you reach a total of 10 hours (600 minutes) or more, bring your Log back to the library and receive a ticket for admission to our Dig In Ice-Cream Sundae Party set for Friday August 2nd from 2:00 - 3:00 PM.  Children who are not yet reading on their own can have an adult read to them.
This program runs from June 6th to July 31st.

Grow closer reading together!  For girls ages 9-12 and their mothers, grandmothers, aunts, big sisters or guardians.  Sign up at the Circulation desk and receive a free copy of the month's title.

WIZARD OF OZ Birthday Party!
Help us celebrate the birth of an American literary classic!  Learn how OZ came to be, test your knowledge, play "Pin The Wings on the Monkey" and try some Chocolate Witch's Hates and Melted Witch punch.  With Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!  In honor of creator Frank L. Baum, please wear green!
For ages 6-8 years old.  Refreshments will be served.  Preregistration is requested so we can ensure enough materials and refreshments are on hand.  Please ask at the desk or call the library to register.

Paws to Read Party for the Dogs
For years Paws to Read dogs and their handlers have visited the Bartow Public library every month, encouraging young readers and spreading canine cheer.
Saturday, May 18th will be the next visit by Shelby of Therapy Dogs International.  Please join Shelby from 10:30 am -11:30 am to help us show them how much we appreciate their faithful service. Cake, Frosty Paws and Dog Biscuits will be served.

Teen Programs!
Teen Wii
Come and enjoy playing various popular games such as Just Dance, Wii Basketball and Wii Play. For Grades 6 through 12. Refreshments will be served.

Brown Bag Concert Series
The Friends of the Library sponsored series is back! Bring your lunch and join us the 2nd Tuesday of each month October - May. All programs begin at 12 noon. Water and soft drinks will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
Next concert - the last of this season - is May 14th.
Pamplin Art Gallery
Union Academy Art students will be our featured artists in the library's gallery for May and June.  Their exhibit is COLOR YOUR WORLD and will be available for viewing every Monday and Tuesday afternoons.  A formal reception honoring the Union Academy art students will be this Tuesday May 7th @ 6 pm.
